Third Grade Class!!!

I am very excited for the upcoming year! I hope you find this website to be very helpful in your quest to learn more about my classroom. Your child will be involved in a multitude of activities to shape and strengthen their learning abilities throughout the year.  

Some of the important skills that your child will be focusing on this year include but are not limited to:

  • Author’s Purpose
  • Plot Mapping
  • Writing 5 paragraph selections using the Writing Traits
  • Multiplication/Division
  • Word Problems
  • Area/Measurement
  • Fractions

We will be reading many interesting stories in the MacMillan McGraw Hill Reading Series. By accessing the following website you can review the stories at home with additional learning games to enhance the learning process. (http://activities.macmillanmh.com)

We will be using Math Trailblazers to explore our reasoning and daily Math skills.

In Science we will be learning about Earth, Water, and the Human Body. 

Daily: I will be initialing your child’s agenda book daily to let you know what their daily progress was. Please check the agenda daily because this will let you know about their homework assignments and any upcoming important dates. You may also use their agendas to communicate with me any problems, suggestions, or concerns. 

Homework: Each night your child will have 20 minutes of AR homework. They will also have AM homework. Any other homework assignments will depend on what is being learned in the classroom on a daily basis. 

I believe that the teamwork of the parent and teacher are very important. I plan to cultivate your child’s learning so that they may succeed even beyond my classroom. If there are any questions or concerns feel free to contact me. Thanks in advance for your support!!
