The following list includes a few of the many activities and events that happen at Lulu M. Ross Elementary School.
PAW Power: PAW Power is the theme for our behavior system. Students strive to Practice Safety, Act Responsibly, and Welcome Respect. Students meeting these goals are rewarded with PAW tickets which are traded for prizes and participation in special events.
Family Learning Night: Ross families, students, and staff get together one night in November to share learning activities, games, and stories. It is a fun night of exploring, and sharing .
Ross Carnival: Every spring the PTP and Ross Staff host a carnival for students, families and community. Everyone has a great time! Be sure to join us!
Student Council: A select group of fifth graders are chosen as Representatives to participate in Student Council. These students do a variety of jobs around the school and participate in school and community service projects.
Community Support Activities: Every year there are activities and events that take place due to the needs of our society (such as disaster relief drives) or the interests of our students.
Scholastic Book Fair: Twice a year the PTP sponsors a Scholastic Book Fair. Students can purchase books, journals, pencils, and other items.
Good Citizenship Assemblies: Each month a discipline assembly is held for those students who have shown good behavior. This is based on the classroom flip chart system and is different from PAW Power activities.
Ross Cats: Each month one student in each class is selected as the Ross Cat for the month. This award is based on the effort the student makes during the usual school day.
Food Drive: Each November the Student Council holds a Thanksgiving food drive.
Field Trips: During the school year each class may take up to three field trips. The trips are planned to enrich science or social studies themes the students are studying.
