Hooray! Library is also a class!
In addition to having open library for exchanging books and doing projects, students go to library as part of their Expressive Arts Cycle. This means each class attends library for 30 minutes of instruction every 7-8 school days. Students do not exchange books during library class time. Instead they learn how to use the library inself and the resources available. Resources include general books, reference books, and computer resources such as: databases, student search engines, launch pages, selected websites, etc. To access these resources see the library section of this website.
Students will learn to use these resources efficiently to meet their instructional needs. We also will be exploring various types of literature and storytelling during our class periods.
Our goal is to enable the students to use libraries and the internet to successfully find information and answers to questions and wonders. We strive to raise well balanced life-long readers that will be comfortable in libraries throughout their lives.
If you have questions about the library classes or the library in general, please call: 422-1640 and ask for the library.
