Welcome To Mrs. Lewis's Fourth

Grade Class

  Where learning is fun!

     We have so many wonderful things planned for you this year.   This year we will work on our cursive handwriting so that we can be good writers.  Reading and math will be so much fun with the fantastic games we will play to learn our reading and math skills.  Students will be expected to learn their times tables, so start practicing this summer.   In spelling, we have monthly spelling bees and weekly spelling tests.    I am sure that you have had wonderful adventures this summer, so be prepared  write about your summer fun as you learn the basics of good story writing.   In science , you  will learn many new things.   Did you know that you can grow grass on a sponge?   Have you ever picked up a crayfish?   You will do many fun hands-on experiments to learn about the fourth grade curriculum.   In social studies, you will learn about the Delaware Indians and explorers.   Marco Polo!!!!!  Did you know that Marco Polo was really an explorer from long ago?   You will learn these things and more in the fourth grade.   Plan to go on several field trips this year.   How does Philadelphia sound?   Sounds like fun to me.   I can't wait to see you in August.
