Welcome to Mr. Kucharzyk's fourth grade classroom -102!!!

Meet the teacher -  First of all, don't be afraid of the name - KOO - CHAR - ZIK - see ... easy!  Your children will help if necessary.  I am a Dad/Husband, Boxer owner (2), love music,sports and movies

Mission - We will show respect, work hard and play - fifth grade is the goal to attain!   Power to the PAW!!!!!!

Reading /Language Arts - We will use Macmillan/MacGraw Hill program - Treasures www.macmillanmh.com/reading/treasures.html

Writing - The Six Traits writing program will help us develop our ideas and become proficient writers www.nwrel.org/assessment/

Math - The Math Trailblazers program covers number sense, addition/subtraction strategies, multiplication, division, geometry concepts,  how to interpret and graph data and use measurement   www.kendallhunt.com/index.cfm?PID=234 

Science - We begin with structures of life  - continue with magnetism/electricity - and learn about water/space    www.fossweb.com

Social Studies - Delaware/Native American/American History and Civics, World Economics and Geography 

Accelerated Reading/Math (AR/AM)- Independent programs to complement our math and reading   www.renlearn.com

Homework - Given daily -  Mon - Spelling      Tues - Reading /LA     Wednesday - AM     Thurs -  Teacher's choice      Fri - AR

Students will be expected to read a minimum of 15-20 minutes every night in AR  - Some students may need extra help with their math facts (+, -, /, x)  Flash cards are awesome!  Please read with your children and check agendas daily for changes in the schedule
