2003 - Ross is named a Model of Excellence by Lt. Governor Carney

2003-2007- Recepient of the Sussex County Elementary School Author Visits - A prize for winning the "Delaware Reads" annual competition.  More information is available under special reading events.   The Delaware Legislature passed House Bill 667 naming the Ladybug as the Official Delaware Bug. This happened after Mrs. Brown's class campaigned for the Ladybug.  For details click here.

April 25th, 1974

1957 Ross Elementary opened. The School was named after Lulu M. Ross, a first grade teacher who taught in the Milford School District for 52 years (1898-1950).  Ms. Ross taught many important Milfordians including Ruth Ann Minner (Governor of Delaware) and Marvin Schelhouse (President of the Milford School Board).
