Ross Elementary School has once again received a rating of "Superior" from the State of Delaware!

Lulu M. Ross Elementary School is committed to helping all students reach their maximum potential. We provide a comprehensive instructional program for all children. Our curriculum includes a balanced approach to reading that includes a focus on reading comprehension as well as word study. In addition, the Accelerated Reader program is used to monitor student progress in reading. Through the use of this program, students read books at their own level and take quizzes to determine their level of understanding of what they have read. The students get immediate feedback. The Trailblazer Math Program is used to provide hands-on math instruction in the area of math and focuses on problem-solving, content/computation, and communication. Our writing program focuses on the writing process and the traits that make up a good writing piece.

Our Smithsonian Science kits are used to give our students hands-on learning experiences in the area of science. Our exemplary educational programs are designed to promote greater student achievement, collaboration and cooperation, extended help for students, parent partnerships, and connection with the community.
